Danny Garcia to Return against Brandon Rios

The long-awaited return of former two-division champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (33-1, 19 KOs) is now no longer a mystery. The Philadelphia fighter will step back in the squared circle against former lightweight world champion Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios (34-3-1, 25 KOs). The bout will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 17 live on premium cable channel Showtime. 

Mayweather-McGregor sells 4.3 million in PPV buys

Earlier this week cable television network Showtime announced that the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor PPV (pay-per-view) sold an extraordinary 4.3 million buys. The match took place this past August in Las Vegas and faced an unprecedented amount of criticism for being a mismatch and a circus show. All the criticism in the world had no impact on the fights finances with Mayweather-McGregor now being the second-highest selling PPV in history. The bout pit a returning 40-year old Mayweather who had been out of the ring for two-years and McGregor making his professional boxing debut. 

PBC on FS1 Results: Devon Alexander wins a unanimous decision over Walter Castillo

Making his return to the ring after a 25-month layoff St. Louis’ Devon Alexander (27-4, 14 KOs) scored a unanimous decision over tough Nicaraguan slugger Walter Castillo (26-5-1, 19 KOs). Alexander looked back to his championship form, as he was able to time Castillo throughout the fight. In the second round, Alexander scored a beautiful knockdown with a four-punch combination highlighted by his well-known right uppercut. The judges awarded Alexander the victory with scores of 100-89 twice and 96-93.
