BREAKING: Canelo and Chavez Jr to Clash in May
In a bout that has had two fighters on a collision course for the past few years, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will finally meet on the Cinco de Mayo Mexican holiday weekend.
ESPN and USA Today were the first to announce the official bout, which is contracted at 164.5 pounds, which means Alvarez will be going up in weight while Chavez Jr. will going down from his previous 168 pound bout. There is no official word on the selected venue, but Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena seems to be the leading candidate.
