Deontay Wilder could be fighting this man next!

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is likely to make his return to the ring in a few short months, and he just might have an opponent lined up already.
Multiple sources are reporting that negotiations between Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) and Luis Ortiz (27-0, 23 KOs, 2 NC) are almost finalized for a November 4 showdown between the two at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Luis Ortiz would present the biggest challenge to date for Wilder, and it would be interesting to see how the champion deals with the Cuban southpaw who has shown big time power, and impressive boxing skills for a man his size.
The main sticking point in negotiations would likely be mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne who Wilder ironically claimed the title from in 2015. Stiverne is the number one ranked challenger while Ortiz is currently ranked number three by the WBC.
Should the fight happen, it would provide a significant boost to the heavyweight division which appears to be on the upswing with the recent Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko fight which turned out to be a fan friendly affair back in April of this year.
More details to come as they are made available.
