Jermell Charlo and Erickson Lubin will clash Oct 14 in Brooklyn
BROOKLYN - Undefeated WBC junior middleweight Jermell Charlo (29-0, 14 KOs) will defend his title against his mandatory challenger in fellow unbeaten Erickson Lubin (18-0, 13 KOs) on October 14, at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The fight will be the main event in what is already a stacked card which includes WBA super welterweight champion Erislandy Lara (24-2-2, 14 KOs) defending his belt in a voluntary defense against the WBA #8 ranked challenger Terrell Gausha (20-0, 9 KOs).
The card also will play host to IBF junior middleweight champion Jarrett Hurd (20-0, 14 KOs) who will be defending his title against former world champion Austin “No Doubt” Trout (30-3, 17 KOs).
Charlo has a big challenge in front of him with the hard-hitting Lubin who has knocked out his last two opponents in impressive fashion.
For Lubin, this will be his biggest challenge to date as Charlo himself has shown a renewed fire and is coming off an impressive string of knock outs himself stopping Charles Hatley in April and coming back to stop John Jackson in May of last year.
It's an interesting style match-up and on paper, this looks to be a fan friendly fight which could very well be one of the better clashes this year when it's all said and done.
