Interim WBA heavyweight champion Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz (24-0, 21 KOs) wants to challenge the best after his dismantling of Bryant Jennings (19-2, 10 KOs) via a seventh round knockout win last night on HBO. Ortiz said after the fight that he wants to meet WBC champion Deontay Wilder or IBO/WBA/WBO champion Tyson Fury next.

Ultimately, it will come down to whoever Golden Boy Promotions decides to match him up with, but Ortiz wants the top two heavyweights in Fury or Wilder next.

Ortiz was very impressive showcasing a diverse skill set besting Jennings in front of a large crowd at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. He landed monstrous uppercuts throughout the fight that had many questioning how Jennings was still standing. To add to the accurate power punching display, he showed incredibly light feet moving on his toes very gracefully for a man his size. It was a very impressive thing to watch.

“I will fight whoever next, whoever Golden Boy Promotions gives me I will take. Wilder, Fury, Klitschko anyone of them, I am ready to prove that I am the heavyweight world champion. A lot of people say a lot of things about me, but the testing showed that I am a clean fighter,” Ortiz said after the fight.

It’s doubtful that either Fury or Wilder will want to fight an interim heavyweight champion like Luis Ortiz. It's likely both will view this fight as "Too much risk, Too little reward." Ortiz is a very dangerous opponent for anyone in the division due to his punching power, excellent boxing skills and impressive footwork not to mention the southpaw stance.

It'll be interesting to see what is in store for Luis Ortiz, perhaps a clash with Ruslan Chagaev for the WBA world title and then a push for a Wilder or Fury showdown. Fans should be buzzing after witnessing the performance of the rising Cuban star. He offers great promise for the future of the heavyweight division, one which has been viewed as lackluster for several years now. One thing we can say for sure, King Kong is for real and he is here to stay!
