Top Rank promoter Bob Arum announced that Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent will be named during the Nonito Donaire vs. Cesar Juarez card this Friday on truTV
The fact that Arum is going to be announcing the news on his Top Rank truTV card suggests that it’s highly likely that it's going to be one of his own Top Rank stable fighters. Timothy Bradley and Terence Crawford quickly come to mind as the two the favorites.
There has been a lot of talk about Khan vs. Pacquiao and the fight makes a lot of sense but unlikely at this point. The most popular choice for fans outside of Amir Khan would have to be Terence Crawford. He is Top Rank's rising star and needs a big fight to solidify and increase his popularity and status with casual boxing fans. Should this fight be made it would definitely have boxing fans talking.
A rubber match with Bradley is far less intriguing and would not generate nearly as much interest as a showdown with Crawford would. Manny Pacquiao still has some fight left in him and would be a difficult matchup for anyone in the division. We shall see who the choice is on Friday.
