After losing a decision to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez back in November of 2015, Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto will finally step back into the squared circle on February 25, in Frisco, Texas.

Officially reported by ESPN, Cotto, 36, will matchup against James Kirkland who, coincidentally, has also been out of action after a knockout loss against Alvarez in 2015. Cotto's team has stated that Cotto (40-5, 33 KOs) intends to make 2017 his last year before hanging up the gloves. Additionally, they've also expressed desire in a potential rematch with Alvarez before the end of next year.

The bout will be at the the new Ford Center at The Star, which is the new training facility of the Dallas Cowboys. The facility has a 12,000 seat arena.

Although not yet officially signed, Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KOs) of Cuba will be the co-feature in an event slated to be on HBO pay-per-view. Both Cotto and Rigondeaux are promoted by Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Ticket information should follow in the coming weeks.
