George Groves advances to World Boxing Super Series final with a victory over Chris Eubank Jr.

Hello, World!

George Groves wins a Unanimous Decision over Chris Eubank Jr. in a Thriller

MANCHESTER- Jab was the recipe as World Boxing Association (WBA) and new International Boxing Organization (IBO) super middleweight champion George Groves (28-3, 20 KOs) defeats Chris Eubank Jr. (26-2 20 KOs)  to advance to the World Boxing Super Series final in a thrilling fight in Manchester.

Groves stayed composed and used a very disciplined jab to keep the fight at his range throughout the fight, landing several clean right hands and tieing up the aggressive advances by Eubank Jr.

Eubank Jr. suffered a cut from a clash of heads in the third round, this was a result of his lunging in to close the distance between himself and Groves. Eubank had some middle round success as he started to apply pressure, landing some solid hooks and uppercuts on the inside, but Groves remained calm and picked his shots and effectively tied up Eubank Jr. halting his onslaughts several times throughout the fight.

Neither man was seriously hurt in the fight, and both displayed the ability to take big punches throughout. In the end, it was Groves superior boxing skill, and ability to control range with his jab that ultimately dictated the result of the fight.

The scorecards read 117-112, 115-113, and 116-112 all for the winner George Groves.

With the victory, Groves awaits the winner of the SMITH VS. BRÄHMER semi-final matchup taking place in one week. One thing interesting to note, it appeared as though George Groves suffered a shoulder injury of some sort in the final round. It's not immediately clear how severe the injury is, or if this will hinder his ability to compete going further.
