Results: Oleksandr Usyk wins Majority Decision over Mairis Briedis to advance to WBSS final


LATVIA- In a hard-fought, competitive battle between two unbeaten champions, one emerged as the winner. Oleksandr Usyk (14-0, 11 KOs) remained unbeaten and is now the unified Cruiserweight champion (WBO and WBC) after defeating Mairis Briedis (23-1, 18 KOs) via majority decision.  

With the victory, Usyk advances to the World Boxing Super Series final to face the winner of IBF titleholder Murat Gassiev (25-0, 18 KOs) and WBA titleholder Yunier Dorticos (22-0, 18 KOs) taking place next weekend. 

The scorecards read 114-114, 115-113, and 115-113, a majority decision in a fight that saw lots of action throughout. Either man could have been awarded the victory, and when the tournament concludes, a rematch could be in order.
