The great Roy Jones Jr (65-9, 47 KOs) will be making his last appearance in the ring against former WBC United States National Champion, Scott "Cujo" Sigmon, (30-11-1-16ko's.) This fight will take place on February 8th, live from the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida.
Jones is officially hanging up the gloves after stating this would be his last fight in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida where it all started for him.
Jones is easily going to be remembered as one of the greatest of all times for all he accomplished in boxing. Jones at one point held the WBC, IBF, WBA, IBO, WBF, NABF, and IBA light heavyweight championships all at the same time. He won the WBA heavyweight title, making him the first former middleweight champion to win a Heavyweight title in 106 years. His hand speed was unbelievably fast, and at one point Jones seemed unbeatable.
Jones is coming off a win over Bobby Gunn (23-7-1, 20 KOs) and even though he is not in his prime anymore and has been knocked out a few times, he has had only one loss in his last ten fights.
Scott Sigmon at age 30, is 18 years younger than Jones but has experience in the game having faced big names like Luis Arias, Kelly Pavlik, Ronald Gavril, and J'Leon Love. Sigmon's last fight was on August 27, 2017, where he defeated Javier Frazier (8-2-1-4ko's,) by decision. This match will be a good test for both fighters, with Sigmon's youth, and experience on his side, it will not be easy taking out the former World Champion and experienced veteran Roy Jones Jr.
