ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA - Robert Guerrero might want to consider his future in the sport after losing a split-decision against Argentina's David Peralta on Saturday August 27, from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Guerrero, 33, came in as the heavy favorite, as well as the draw for the event. The Gilroy, California native was looking to rebound from a decision loss against welterweight world-title holder Danny Garcia back in January, but two out of three ringside judges did not see it in his favor. While Peralta, who said he would contemplate retirement depending on the outcome of this fight, (26-2-1, 14 KOs) gained two scores of 116-112 and 115-113, Guerrero (35-5-1, 18 KOs) only had a single readout of 115-113.
