Mayweather-McGregor sells 4.3 million in PPV buys

Earlier this week cable television network Showtime announced that the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor PPV (pay-per-view) sold an extraordinary 4.3 million buys. The match took place this past August in Las Vegas and faced an unprecedented amount of criticism for being a mismatch and a circus show. All the criticism in the world had no impact on the fights finances with Mayweather-McGregor now being the second-highest selling PPV in history. The bout pit a returning 40-year old Mayweather who had been out of the ring for two-years and McGregor making his professional boxing debut.
