While UFC 216 was not exempt from the recent trend of fights falling apart, it made for one of their better cards in their recent pay-per-views. An Interim Champion was crowned and a current champion defended his belt in a fashion that will be talked about till the end of the year.
The long-awaited middleweight title bout between current champ, Michael Bisping and former welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre takes place in November at Madison Square Garden. Three title fights headline the event and the first press conference can be seen here:
Luke Rockhold is on track again towards the middleweight title. While David Branch gave him a rough first round, Rockhold was able to push through it and come out the victor in Pittsburgh Saturday night.
UFC 215 should not go under anyone’s radar as two titles are on the line that is not labeled as “interim”, these are legit title fights. The “King of the flies”, Demetrious Johnson takes on Ray Borg who is ranked third in the UFC’s flyweight division.
