Another New Yorker added to WSOFNYC
By Edward Carbajal
Striking the mixed martial arts fire in New York while it’s hot MMA’s World Series of Fighting (WSOF) added another New Yorker to the stacked card for their New Years Eve event in Madison Square Garden. Undefeated featherweight, Andre Harrison has signed an exclusive multi-fight agreement with the promotion according to WSOF’s website.
Harrison has fought in Ring of Combat and Titan FC as recently as last September and it looks like he will be making his way in his new home before the New Year. Harrison joins many other New York based MMA fighters jumping at the chance to fight in their home state where the sport was once banned. Harrison fights out of the well-known Bellmore Kickboxing Academy in New York where many professional fighters have trained for almost as long as the sport was banned.
Harrison will be facing Bruce Boyington (14-9) in his first fight with WSOF.
Not only are they pursuing new talent aggressively but they are also pursuing New York aggressively, if you were anywhere near Madison Garden during UFC 205 you likely saw the flyers letting fight fans know, this only the beginning for MMA in New York.
Tickets for WSOFNYC are NOW on sale and priced at $500, $250, $150, $75 and $50. Fans can purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster.com and WSOF.com as well as at the Madison Square Garden box office.
