Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos’s (21-18) loss to Michael “Venom” Page (11-0) made its rounds around the web over the weekend. One reason was because of the spectacular way it happened, another reason was because of the way Page celebrated but the damage Santos suffered has had many in the MMA community concerned for his well-being. The KO knee from Page left Santos with an indented skull.

However, Santos said he is fine and never suffered any of the symptoms that would, by definition make his loss an official knockout according to MMA Junkie. Santo’s is confident he’ll be back in the Bellator MMA cage soon; he even believes the whole thing to be a good way to back up his moniker of “Cyborg”.

The good side is that now I’ll make justice to my nickname.

With his record near 50/50 for wins and losses, no one would blame him for wanting to call it a career, but as fighters and fight fans know, it’s hard to walk away from a way of life. Santos ex-wife Cristiane Justino was concerned for his safety and set-up a Go Fund Me page for him. However, Santos said Bellator took care of his medical expenses. The page for donations is still active for those that would like to donate.
