Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones UFC

Daniel Cormier, “The fake champion”, as some fans call him, is set to defend his Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 197, on April 23 in Las Vegas, Nevada at The MGM Grand Arena, or at least he is supposed to. As of March 29, 2016, His opponent, former Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has been arrested, yet again.

Jones (21-1) was booked in a New Mexico jail for violating his probation after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest after he was cited for drag racing last week in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jones was seen on the police officer's body camera calling the officer a number of derogatory terms, including “F**king pig”

Last year, Jones was placed on probation after being convicted in a hit-and-run case that involved Jones crashing into a pregnant woman’s car, and then fleeing from the scene on foot. A marijuana pipe with marijuana residue was also found in the glove compartment of his vehicle. This incident occurred just a short period of time after it was discovered that Jones had failed a drug test for his first bout with Cormier at UFC 182. The drug test he failed indicated that he had benzoylecgonine in his system, which is the primary metabolite of cocaine.

Before the hit-and-run occurred, Jones was set to defend his belt against number one contender Anthony “Rumble” Johnson at UFC 187, but in light of Jones’ legal troubles, the UFC decided to go ahead and strip Jones of his championship and suspend him indefinitely, therefore granting Daniel Cormier a second title shot within a five month period. Cormier went on to defeat Johnson in a dominant performance, winning via rear-naked choke. Cormier went on to cut a quick “promo” after his win, “Jon Jones, get your sh*t together boy! I’m waiting for you!”

Cormier (17-1), went on to successfully defend his belt in a five round war against Alexander Gustafsson, in which Cormier won via split decision.

Now that my short history lesson is over, let's move on to my question. Why is Daniel Cormier treated like the bad guy?
