Ryan Jimmo (19-5) was victim of a hit-and-run in Edmonton, Canada early Sunday morning. CBC.ca reported the incident, later revealing that the victim was indeed Jimmo. Since the news broke the MMA community has been mourning his loss. Jimmo last competed at UFC Fight Night 67 in May of 2015 where he lost to Francimar Barroso. Jimmo is most remembered for his seven-second KO of Anthony Perosh in his UFC debut. Although he is probably more remembered for the way he celebrated.

Jimmo is the second MMA fighter that has died from being the victim of a hit-and-run since Jordan Parsons also died from his injuries in a similar incident. While Parson’s was due to negligence of the man operating the vehicle, it would seem the driver that Jimmo encountered may have run him over on purpose. The vehicle is described by police as a “dark colored pick-up truck” and having an “extended cab”. Police said the vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Whyte Avenue in the westbound lane and nearly hit a red car.

In the initial report it was said an altercation may have occurred before everything happened. They are seeking witnesses to help find the driver of the vehicle.

Ryan Jimmo was 34-years-old.
