UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has been forced to pull out of his upcoming and highly anticipated rematch with former champion Jon Jones at UFC 197 after suffering an injury to his leg. This news was confirmed by ESPN.com correspondent Brett Okamoto.

The severity of the injury has not been disclosed at this point and it is unclear whether or not Jon Jones will remain on the card to face a replacement opponent. Jones has not fought since the last meeting with Cormier in January of 2015. The co-main event between Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo will likely be slated as the main event for the card taking place April 23, if an opponent is not chosen for Jones.
