The MMA world got some sad news yesterday. Jordon Parsons (11-2) who was the victim of a hit-and-run early Sunday morning passed away. He was reported to be in critical condition needing an amputation and heart surgery before it became too much for the 25-year-old MMA fighter. The Gofundme.com page that was initially set up as medical relief will now be used for the “extreme burden of medical debt, as well as the cost of a proper burial.”

A statement from Scott Coker, President of Bellator MMA was released when Parson’s passed away:

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons. Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in the sport. But more importantly, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a terribly tragic loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and teammates.
— Scott Coker

The driver from the vehicle presumed to have hit Parsons has yet to be found. The Delray Beach police are seeking information and hoped the driver comes forward.
