Kayla Harrison Knew Amanda Nunes Would Win at UFC 232
Kayla Harrison taught a Judo class for her open workout in New York City Saturday to prepare for her bout against Moriel Charneski in the featured women’s lightweight bout for Professional Fighters League (PFL) on New Year’s Eve. Before she enters the cage in the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, she addressed the media and commented on where she sees herself in MMA in the coming year and her desire to fight Cris “Cyborg” Justino.
Harrison knows she has a long way to go, but she told Frontproof Media that it is hard to be patient and says if the PFL holds six lightweight division bouts for the 2019 season, “then I’ll fight six times.”
Of course with UFC 232 happening the same day of her open workout, she let media know not only is Amanda Nunes a training partner of hers, but she said she would “surprise” fans at UFC 232 and she did. Harrison said a loss for Cyborg would not remove from her legacy as one of the most dominant females in combat sports and would still like to face her at some point in the future.
She admits that she is still growing in the sport of mixed martial arts and fighting the best there is certainly a goal of hers. Harrison and Charneski are fight on the 2018 closing season card for the PFL on New Year’s Eve, the fights will air on NBCSN at 7p.m. EST and on Facebook Watch live.
