Khabib Nurmagomedov (24-0) number on ranked lightweight in the UFC is getting tired of waiting around for a title shot. Since UFC 205 he has been adamant about getting a shot at the title and having the record he holds in the sport, fans are wondering the same thing. During his fight with Michael Johnson at UFC 205 he was shown talking to Dana White in between rounds, telling White “I’m going to smash your boy”, referring to Conor McGregor.

Before UFC 205 happened Nurmagomedov was under the impression title shot was on its way. Then, the main event of Conor McGregor versus Eddie Alvarez was announced leaving Nurmagomedov having to face Johnson. Since his win, he has been actively calling out the UFC on social media as well as McGregor who holds the title for his division.

Now, McGregor holds both the featherweight and lightweight division titles with White already saying he will not return to action until after his baby is due, in May according to the post fight press conference. With the two divisions paused Nurmagomedov wants his title shot, so he sent out a message to McGregor.

He seems to be issuing the challenge as respectfully as possible, along with a side of bravado. Do you think “The Eagle of Dagestan” will finally get is shot at the title? Most would agree that he is a bad matchup for McGregor but the same was said about Alvarez.
