*Update: MMA Junkie reported today that a Bubba McDaniel will fill in for Lawal.

Liam McGeary was scheduled to face Muhammad Lawal as the co-main event for Bellator 185 but Lawal has been removed due to injury according to MMA Junkie. McGeary has been trying to fight his way back to the title he lost in the very arena he is scheduled for on October 20 at Mohegan Sun.

Last Fall, McGeary lost the title to Phil Davis after coming back from being injured himself. Of the many weight classes in Bellator, the light heavyweight title has seemed to be changing hands a lot since leaving McGeary’s waist. Davis lost the title to Ryan Bader when Bellator made their debut in New York City last June and is currently scheduled to face Leo Leite at Bellator 186. Bader is also on that card which follows Bellator 185 in November.

Both Lawal and McGeary have had their eye on the title for a while now and McGeary expressed his feelings on social media.

Should fans expect some reshuffling? Bellator 185 is soon so the promotion should have updates once they get through Bellator 184.

This is the current bout listing:

Gegard Mousasi vs. Alexander Shlemenko
Liam McGeary vs. Bubba McDaniel *
David Rickels vs. Brennan Ward
Heather Hardy vs. Kristina Williams
Ryan Quinn vs. Marcus Surin
Steve Skrzat vs. Costello Van Steenis
Alec Hooben vs. Jordan Young
