Mayweather vs. McGregor: Here We Go Again

It’s no secret in combat sports when competitors with the last name, Mayweather or McGregor mention one another the ears of fight fans perk up. Today, Floyd Mayweather Jr. spoke with ESPN and brought up Conor McGregor again and how he tried to make the fight happen.

Mayweather claims to have offered McGregor a $15 million contract to fight.

We are willing to give him $15 million and then we can talk about splitting the percentage — the back end — on the pay-per-view. But of course, we’re the ‘A side.’ How can a guy talk about making 20 or 30 million if he has never made 8 or 9 million in a fight.
— Floyd Mayweather, Jr

Of course, McGregor caught wind of this and responded with a meme on social media.

Did you know McGregor had an emoji app?

It is more than money that matters to make this fight happen. Rules will obviously favor one competitor over another. Promoters have to agree and the "back end" Mayweather is referring to is always what holds up a fight from happening.  What are the odds this fight will ever happen?
