Next for the Queen Division: Nunes vs. Shevchenko 2

In the main event of UFC Fight Night at Denver Colorado last Saturday number one contender Valentina Shevchenko defeated the number two contender, Juliana Peña to earn a shot at current bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes.

Not only is it an opportunity to become champion for Shevchenko but it will also be a chance to avenge a loss to Nunes when she was making her way in the UFC. If the recent performances of both women tell fans anything, it's that they are not the same as when they first fought. Shevchenko versus Peña was dubbed a striker versus grappler match so the arm bar finish from Shevchenko surprised a lot of fans, showing her growth in the sport. Nunes has finished two former champions in Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey on top of holding a win over Shevchenko.

Both women faced off after Shevchenko’s win in the cage last night and both made the assertion one will best the other the next time they meet. It might be time to review their first fight before the Nunes vs. Shevchenko 2 hype train gets ready for departure.
