PFL President Carlos Silva on Draft Kings and Closing the 2018 Season in NYC

12/23/2018

The Professional Fighters League has gone through their first season in 2018 and on New Year’s Eve, the finalists will fight for the million dollar prize that comes with winning the championship for their divisions. In keeping with the PFL theme of winning big at the end of the season, the promotion has partnered with Draft Kings and created their own, “Pick em’” style fantasy game to run on the night of the championships.

PFL President Carlos Silva spoke with Frontproof Media about how the partnership came to be and it’s similarities to the game play for the Draft Kings prize pool of $25k mirrors what the competitors on the fight card went through in 2018 to get to their championship fights.  The game will feature a live leader board for players to track their position in real time, and Draft Kings will award $25K in guaranteed prizing.

Mr. Silva said it was something in the works on the digital end of the plans for 2019, but the team over at Draft Kings believed they could, “could get something up for 2018 for the championship” Silva said. The game went live 12/21 and he added, “It’s easy to play, easy for everybody and Draft Kings is the biggest platform and we’re excited to be working with them.”
