Points Maketh The Man at PFL 5
PFL 5 likely pushed Vinny Magalhaes (16-9-1) just increased his mixed martial arts stature within the promotion by securing 12 points with two first-round finishes making him the top seed in the light heavyweight division.
Magalhaes defeated Brandon Halsey (11-4) with a first round knock out at PFL 5 making him a favorite to win the prize money for his division. Magalhaes is going full steam in ahead and is focused on winning as he said he plans on not taking much time off and staying ready for the rest of the season.
Natan Schulte (13-3) currently leads his division with nine points when he pulled off a first-round submission win over Jason High (21-8). As great as a win it was for Schulte, the loss for High was tough to watch as this was his chance at coming back from the controversial stoppage in his last fight where he was thought to have tapped out while working an escape at PFL 2.
Overall, the PFL has continued its reputation as a promotion leading the way with finishes in MMA and on August 16, they look to continue it in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the new Ocean Resort and Casino.
