Rory MacDonald will be fighting for Bellator MMA
By Edward Carbajal
The news broke early on Wednesday that Rory MacDonald (18-4) one of the top welterweights in MMA is bringing his talents to Bellator. FloCombat broke the news of the Canadian martial artists move to the Bellator MMA cage where a few familiar faces from his former promotion now compete. He joins Benson Henderson and Matt Mitrione on the list of fighters seeing what life is like outside of the UFC.
MacDonald had made it known after recovering from his injuries at UFC 189 that he felt like seeing what else the MMA landscape could offer him. There was a lot of speculation that his last fight at UFC: Fight Night 89 would be his last with the UFC and it looks like that is the case.
Bellator MMA has a lot of very active and very tough fighters, especially at 170 pounds. The current champ, Andrey Koreshkov put his title up for grabs against Henderson when he made his debut. Do you think MacDonald will look for a similar welcome?
Fight fans will have to wait and see. But, the last two fights MacDonald lost were against very talented fighters and his fight with Robbie Lawler at UFC 189 is likely to be a future fight inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.
