Taimanglo upsets Caldwell at Bellator 159
By Edward Carbajal
The undefeated record can carry more weight than a title at times. Darrion Caldwell found that out at Bellator 159 when he lost at: 09 of the third round against Joe Taimanglo. The winner of this bout was supposed to face Eduardo Dantas for the bantamweight title, but Taimanglo failed to make weight which may remove the opportunity to face Dantas.
Will Caldwell still get a shot? That remains to be seen but it would certainly make for great main event.
Another outstanding win was Melvin Guillard’s first round knockout of Dave Rickels. Guillard had a hard time in his Bellator debut and again in his follow up fight but it would seem the cobwebs are off and he has found a new home at 170 pounds. His hope is to face Paul Daley next to make a name for himself in the weight class.
