The UFC is giving the gift of fighting for Mother’s Day with UFC Fight Night 87. The main event features two well-known heavyweights in MMA, Alistair Overeem (40-14) vs. Andre Arlovski (25-11) in the main event. The winner looks to be next in line for a title shot and with both men at a point in their careers where this could be the last chance to wear UFC gold.

Arlovski already a former champion feels he can work his way into the rankings after finishing Travis Browne with a KO and earning a decision over Frank Mir. He and Overeem are both members of Jackson/Wink MMA and have trained together before so as much as a quick bout between the two seems likely, knowing each other’s styles can make it go the distance. Both men are very open about this being all business and they are not friends, just training partners.

Along with the main event are Stefan Struve (26-8) vs. Antonio “Big Foot” Silva (19-8-1), this may be one of the rare times Silva seems like the smaller man. Struve stands seven-feet tall and should have a reach advantage over the Brazilian heavyweight, although it is not something he capitalized on in the past.

Usually when big men fight, the final rounds are rarely seen and both Struve and Overeem are enjoying a home field advantage fighting in Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands.  See the full event info below.
