Luke Rockhold is on track again towards the middleweight title. While David Branch gave him a rough first round, Rockhold was able to push through it and come out the victor in Pittsburgh Saturday night.

Rockhold had been out of action for more than a year. During that time David Branch had been collecting wins and defending his two titles at WSOF. That caught the attention of the UFC to bring back the Renzo Gracie black belt. He won a decision victory in his UFC return and let the middleweight division know he was there. Rockhold didn’t seem to like the match up but he had to get back in the cage and regardless of his comments a win over Branch is one that should put him in the “contenders” conversation again.

Don’t embarrass yourself GSP, this is my fight. Just back out.
— Luke Rockhold

He got a win and did so with a submission victory in round two over a former two division champion. He made his intentions for the future known in his post-fight interview, there is only one fight for him and that is for the title.

Seven KO/TKO's, and one submission made the UFC's stop in in Pittsburgh a memorable one.
