#3shows30days

Consider that hashtag part of a gift from Victory Fighting Championship (VFC) as they approach their second event, of three that they are doing to close out 2016. The first happened on the day before Thanksgiving with VFC 53 where undefeated prospect Raufeon Stots (7-0) defeated MMA veteran Jeff Curran (36-18). Stots said in his post-fight announcement he wants in the UFC.

VFC airs on UFC Fight Pass and many fighters have come through the mid-west promotion to break into the UFC. This is something VFC President Ryan Stoddard is proud of acknowledging as someone that fell in love with the sport like many, by being a fan.

I’m a fight fan and I’m blessed to wake up every day and do what I love.
— VFC President Ryan Stoddard

The business of Combat Sports is rough to start in. Whether you try through fighting or starting your own promotion the stories of promotions failing and even the early days of the UFC are not without times they were close to crumbling. However, as the sport of mixed martial arts has grown so has the opportunity to grow a promotion and VFC is the perfect example of the success that comes from a passion for MMA.

From fighter, to manager, and now president and owner of VFC, Stoddard has put together three action packed events that take place during the holiday season. A three course serving of MMA paced out to satisfy a fight fans thirst for the fast growing sport, VFC 53 was the appetizer and VFC 54 is the main course with two titles on the line and the desert being the VFC 55 that takes place December 23 in Topeka, Kansas.

Frontproof Media got to talk to Mr. Stoddard about how he came into the sport and became president of the fast growing promotion. He also talks about what giving to the sport that has given to him and how he has given back as well as what fight fans can expect from VFC in the New Year. Hear the entire interview below:
