Who Needs Judges at Bellator 162?

“Judges, We don't need no stinking judges!”

A night of finishes at Bellator 162 made for an easy assignment for the judges Friday night at the FedEx Center in Memphis.  The main card bouts never saw a final round and half of them didn't get past the first.

Alexander Shlemenko let fans know he hasn't gotten stale while he was away from the Bellator cage. Although the first round had Kendall Grove was trading with the Russian in round one, round two had him realize that was mistake when Shlemenko landed a body shot and right hook that would seal the round in favor of the former middleweight champion.

Bobby Lashley is continuing his dominant run in Bellator where he wore down his applet in a much expected fashion. Lashley never got over confidence and respected the knock out power of Appelt throughout the fight but would impose his strength and superior grappling on the heavy hitter to work in a choke for the win.

Goiti Yamaguchi added another quick submission win to his record when he caught Ryan Couture in an arm bar quickly in round one. The opening bout also has Hisaki Kato earn another knock out win over A.J. Matthews in the second round of their bout.

The fights went so fast there was even time for a quick debate between Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz to promote their upcoming bout in January.
